1. Kyoya

The world was spinning around me. All the images that i saw were blurred and out of focus, which for me was very unusual.Then before i could catch my footing, i feel over and hit the ground--hard--and i blacked out.

I am Mindeku, im a five-hundred foutry-three year old neko yokai (cat demon-and dont ask about birthdays). Although i look about fourteen, and i look almost fully human, I am most deffinitly not. I have got black ears and a long black tail. My hair is about shoulder length, its black aswell, but very curly.
How i mentioned birthdays, I try to have one every five years. Or within a five year period. My birthday is on August twenty-fourth and thats in about a month and a half away. Today is july nineth.
My mom and dad are both still alive, but i rarely ever get to see them. I'm either out training with my sensei and teem mates,(you will learn about them later dont get your panties in a bunch) or im at one of my houses. Yes, houses. I have three. One of them which is my main, is in the big city over behind the Hidden Valley grass lands. The city doesnt have a name realy. It was founded by a little child about three hundred years ago. She was a full demon, in the form of a small girl. But she died shortly after the city started growing quite quickly.
Now that you know a little about me, onward with the story!

I felt myself being cradeled in sumones arms as we were moving very quickly through some realy dark place. I blinked to clear my eyes a bit and then rubbed them.
"Oh, i see your awake." The guy said in a bitter tone. "Did you know that you almost died back there?!?!-- Did you also know that i almsot had no time to save you?" He said in a bitter, calm tone. You know, like when your a little kid and you just got caught 'drawing pritty pictures' on your walls with your markers? That tone thats so calm its like deadly?
I noted that tone and started ina realy adorable tone, "Well, thanks so much for saving me mister." I made a realy cute little kinda pouty little kid face. "Uhm, may i ask who--"
"My name is Kyoya." He looked down at me and i noticed that we had stoped. "Can you stand?"
"Uhm, I think so." I said in a normal tone and squirmed out of his arms. (Oh yes, one other thing i might mention, I'm a little on the short side. I'm about '5''3. And Kyoya was like a giraffe compared to me! He was like '6''5!!!) I looked up at him "Wow. Your tall for a--wait a sekond...." I moved to his side and went on my tippy toes. "Your an elf!" I gasped. No wonder he was so tall!
"Yes, I'm an elf, im also a guy. Will you please back up a bit, i think im becoming a little claustrophobic." He glared down at me. "Damn, your shroted than i thought." He steped back a bit and put his hand on my head.
"But didnt all elves die in the war with the Inu Yokai?"(Inu Yokai = dog demon) I asked and went down onto flat feet. (Another thing, thank gods that i didnt have paws!)
"No, haha and silly girl, most of the Inu Yokai wentr into hiding." I think that he was laughing at me now. But it sounded more like liquid gurgles or something.
"Yea, i didnt think the Inu Yokai would do something like hide, there so noble. And by the way, I'm not any dwarf if thats what your thinking! Or a human!" I crossed my arms and wrinkled my nose at him at the last comment.
"Oh, well, i can alredy tell that your not a human..." He sort of trailed off and started touching my ear with his left hand.
My tails' fur whet into a big string of puff-fuzz at that touch which set of my nerves. He chukeled at this as i shivered and tryed to flatten down the fur on my tail.
"--But the dwarf thing could be debateable." He smiled down at me and started to play with my other ear. "These are so fasinating. Does this bother you? That im touching them?" He asked as i twitched and paused fixing my fur then continued when he paused to ask.
"No i don't realy mind it... my mother always plays with my ears when i see her...come to think of it so does my father." I paused to think about it a sekond then shruged and continued my busness.
"Okae-- but you dont mind it do you?" He said as he started to rub tiny circles on the edges with his skinny fingers... they were also long fingers. Come to think of it. All of him was. He was realy tall and quite fit-- but still pritty thin.
"Uhm no i dont realy mind it." I said and left my cloud of thought.
We both kind of did that for a couple minutes-- he was examining my ears and i was fixing my fur. It was also realy akwardly silet i might add, well, besides the bugs and birds and animals that were in the distance. That reminds me, "Where are we?" I looked around akwardly, there was no path, we were in a small clearing, in the middle of no where.
"In a forest."
"Well, gee. No shit sherloc!"
He stopped poking around my ears and bend down to meet my eyes at level with his. "Even if i told you, you wouldent beleive me. So how about we head to where ever yur sleeping and eating? Oh i might ask where that is aswell."
"Well where are we? I can't know what direction to go if i dont kow where were--" I stoped short as he picked me up in his arms again. "Uh.. what are you doing?" I asked as i folded my arms into my chest. You know what? I think after this i cant be afraid of heights anymore.
"Just tell me where your at right now and i know where to go. This will only take a sekond." He was looking streight ahed at somehting that i couldent see. "Hurry please." He whispered
"Shadow valley, villege third on the west compound." I whispered back. Right after i said that we were hurteled into a black nothingness and wind was spinning around us. I couldent see any gorund, so i couldent quite explan what he was standing on... or how he was standing. I could hardly breathe with all this wind! Let alone stand! Mabey thats why he was carrying me... "Where are we?" I shouted.
I couldent hear his voice but he smiled down and i saw his lips move to say something like 'I'll explain later.'
I nodded and tryed to get closer to his chest-- the wind was starting to get a little cold and suprisingly he was very warm.

About ten minutes later we were walking toward the camp place that we [we as in Kiiko, Yuki, and Haru. My sensei(Kiiko) and my two team mates Yuki, and Haru (both boys unfortunetly)] were all staying for the time being. It was like a camp site thing all by its self. It was about a twenty minute walk from the village so we decided just to walk to it.
It was quiet between us for the firt couple minutes or so. Not an akward silence, i like the silence actualy. Silence lets me think, therefore its my friend. But the silence was inturrupted when Kyoya started to clear out of his own thoughts.
"So how about you tell me a bit about the people that your staying with?" He put his arm over my sholders and pulled me closer to him as we turned a bend in the road.
I kind of blushed at that move but went on tlaking to hide my embarrasment. "Uhm, who do you want to hear about first?"
"Any of them is fine, how about we start with your sensei?"
"That seams logical." I murmered to myself then went on before he could ask what i said. "My sensei's name is Kiiko, shes about two thousand years old now.. I think its somewhere around one-thousand nine-hundred. Anyways, shes a half elf, and half Inu Yokai." I herd myself giggle a bit then caught it and kept talking. "Shes the sekond highest rank of ninja and shes also next in line for the position of hocage in her place of birth-- i know that when she left it when she was about one hundred years old that it was only a large villige. Its probably much bigger now though." I trailed off and tryed to think of what it was called.
"Okay dont hurt yourself by thinking to hard little one." He put his hand on my head. "Why not descibe something eiser? like what she looks like or what stuff she likes?" He took his hand off my head and replaced it back on my shoulder again.
"Okay well, shes got realy long, dark purple--almost black-- hair. Dark purple blue eyes. And shes about '5''6. She looks about twenty seven years old, and shes realy pritty. She has got kind of pale skin with a kind of purpleish color. Purple or pink i dont know, mabey both. I know that she likes animals. And teaching us. She always tells us that we're her favorite group and she keeps trying to keep us everytime we qualify for the nevt level up or training. She even said that if she becomes the hocage that she would gladly train us still."
"Lucky. My sensei died trying to protect me and my sister from an assasin when we were small children. It was a horrable sight. He was an american that came to this area when we was about twenty. He wanted to live longer so we went to my mother and father and he barganed with them to let him live for hundreads of years and he would be a faithful server. He said that his reason for wanting to live longer was because he was searching for a cure for a small group of colored humans. Apparently they had all had a horrable diesease that was only spread between them selves, but was leithal to them" Kyoya seemed to be almost happy thinking about his past.
I listen to that but when he paused i asked, "Can you tell me about your family? Your sister and your parents?"
"How about later. Tell me abot your teammates. after all im going to be meating them soon wont I?"
"Will you?" I asked in return and smiled. "I'll start with Yuki. Hes half vampire and half Tora Yokai (tiger demon) His ears are realy pritty, and his tail is too. But its a white tiger demon its realy kewl looking. Hes about one hundread-fifty years old, but he appears about 15. By the way, i dont think that i asked, how old are you?"
"Im twetnty years old. Very young. But I am suppostu look about 15. Do I?" He took his arm off my souldenrs and did a pose then he kept walking and returned his arm to its rest.
I laughed and then cleared my throught and said. "I don't know-- your just so tall!"
"Yeah, lots of people in my clan are... actualy most elves are arent they?" He smiled and looked up towards the trees. "They are realy tall aswell arent they?"
I looked up aswell. "They are... That was realy off topic wasnt it?"
He laughed and nodded in agreement.
"Okay-- Yuki.. where was I?"
"Yuki looks about 15"
"Right! Okay, what eles... Hes got kind of short long white hair... its about mabey.. three inches long? mabey four of five. Hes also got kind of dark skin, like a deep tan, but not a realy dark color. Its a realy kewl contrast. Haha Also, Hes got a major crush on the sensei. Its a new thing of his, i think it started about a week ago. it will probably be gone before the end of the month (which only had about 2 weeks left in it). The crush he had before was from his dreems. Actualy im not sure if it was a crush, but he would have a dream of a guy and he always woke up with a hard on." We both laughat at that. "I was the only one he told about that, after i helped him out they stoped coming so often. That or he just stoped telling me about them"
"Oh I see. How did you help him?" Kyoya asked with pure curiosity-- i could tel my the tone he used.
"Haha, lets not get into that subject okay?" I winked at him and continued talking bout them. "On to Haru now i guess?"
"Yup." He nodded.
"Haru appears about twelve. Hes got kind of short hair. Not realy short, but shorter than Yuki's, and his is black. Oh and haru is only about twenty aswell. So you wont have to feel that bad. Or, not bad, but young" I winked at him again. "Next fact- hes a full demon. A Inu/Neko Yokai. Its wonderus that he doesnt fight with himself." I laughed at my own stupid joke then just tinued. "Uhm, being around a Inu Yokai, is that okay with you?"
"I don't realy have anything against them. So i don't think it should be a problem, besides, he's half neko yokai. You a Neko Yokai and you seem very nice. Are you two somehow realted?"
"Thats what i asked him when i first met him. We're relater through the demon parts of us, but through familys we are different clan's entirely."
"Oh, i see. What about both their likes-- well we know that Yuki is a little confuzed, but what are Yukis other intresests? And Haru's?"
"Yuki likes to train with Haru and Kiiko at the same time with a fight that is him against both Haru and Kiiko. Usualy I just watch and study or not go at all. And Kiiko and Haru usualy win. I think its a 2/6 that Yuki wins. Its not that bad i guess... but hes getting better at it. He also likes ramen, cookies, and sleeping. For a vampire (BTW vampires dont die as soon as they hit the sun, but they do get very bad sunburns if they stay in the sun for to long--to long to them could be only an hour and a half at one time.) He enjoys being in the sun alot, he said that he likes that everyhting is always so alive. He also likes painting when the rest of us are out training. Thats a rare ocasion though. Usualy i train with just one other person. Most times its Kiiko, but when theres only two of us at camp i like to go training with just one person. It lets me get to know them better. I do it to any people on any of my teams."
"Thats an intresting way to get to know people. Do you not like being in crowds?" he asked and kept looking forward-- we were about five minutes away from the camp now.
"No-- not at all. In fact if i had to chose to be completley alone with one person of my choice or in a ball with a bunch of people that i all knew i would probably shose the one person. Even if it was a family reunion." I laughed at my little confession and started on haru again. "I think that haru likes to be alone too. He always draws realy nice pictures of the vampire queen and realy nice pictures of lakes, or a forest scene or somehting naturey. Like... i think that ive seena few realy good sketches of wolves that he did. They were realy good."
"I see." He was thinking about this obviously.
"Hey, what about you? What do yu liek to do in your spare time?"
"Hmm. I don't realy know. I like to play mind games and usualy i dont have any free time bacause i always find things that i can go do." He took his arm off my shoulders and took my hand in his much larger one but remained walking. "I hope you don't mind" He gestured down to our linked hands.
I looked down at them then stuttered "Uh, no i dont--realy mind. Not that much at all" I gave a nerveous laugh. Actualy-- it was killing me. I wasnt exactly a beautiful godess or something, he could have pritty much any girl he wanted cos he was realy good in the looks area, and he decides that he wants to like me? (AHHH!!!!!!!!!)

[Notes/Begin]
The age things and the appearances of people depends on the person. When you're born ( if your born anything but a human)somebody will come in and look into your future and see when your at your best--for looks, physique, and health. Unfortunitly i had a penicitis when i was nine, but i wasnt at my best any times before that. So i suffered and i danced with death during that time and the short time after it becasue i was in poor health, but since then I've gotten better and I'm still alive right now. Through my eyes, all is good. Oh yes, and the person that comes will cast a spell that will stop growth until your body gets tired of that one age form and you grow for another year (human years) and then stop for a while. Usualy that doesnt happen but if it does you will be atleast ten-thousand years old. With all the wars we have not many people live that long though. If you do, your recorded and cheked on ever hundread years. Well, checked on consists of a gallant ball with every person that knows you.
If your born a human theres only one way that you can live longer than about two hundread years of age. Thats to go a vampire or an elf and strike a deal. Either working for a vimpire and being tunrned into one, or drinking a posion that the elves have and serve them until either you or your master dies. If your master dies before you then most likley, if your a vimpire you will turn into a full vampire, and if you drank the potion you will either turn back into a human, turn into the animal that your linked to, or turn into a half demon and live on for about half of the life of an elf. Which can be a very long time if taken care of properly.
But again, you want to do that while your at your best quality.
One last thing then we will end these notes, If your a human theres some up sides-- your kind rules most of the world, your not as destructive as you use to be, you help all of the other kinds and we all get along pritty well. In return for your acceptance we would mostlikley do a fovor for the human who helped us specifickly any time they asked, to a human that we wouldent know we would try to help if they needed it and if it wasnt intruding on somehting more important. So realy. Theres no bad side. Besides the fact that vampires feed on humans they will rarley kill the humans. They know how to keep it so that the humans rarley ever know that they have been fed off of as well.
There has also been many cases of the human falling in love with the vampires and the vampires returing the favor and then the human gets turned into a vampire by there husband/wife. Very nice endings when the humans meet with demons, angels, vampires, or any kind of other thing thats compatable.

haha it was kinda long.. teehee... and the notes are at the end of each chapter... i higly doubted that any of the characters would need to be told what there living in the heart of..... so i just made those so readers could understand more of what kind of would thay are wandering into
